What we collect online
Almost nothing. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for a basic visitor count — it is cookieless and does not profile you or follow you across other sites. Beyond that there are no advertising trackers, social pixels, or profiling scripts. Server logs (your browser, an anonymised IP, the time of visit) are kept for thirty days for security purposes. Your cookie preference is kept locally on your device for twelve months. If you fill the enquiry form, your name, email, dates and message go to us via Formspree — we use it to reply to your enquiry, nothing else.
What we collect when you book or stay
If you book through Booking.com or Airbnb, those platforms handle your personal data under their own privacy policies and only share what we need to host you (name, contact number, dates). If you book direct, we take only what we need to confirm and host the stay.
What we never do
Sell, rent or share guest details with marketers.
Run remarketing or advertising profiles on third-party platforms.
Use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar profiling tools on this site.
How long we keep things
Booking and accommodation records — six years (HMRC requirement).
Server logs — thirty days.
Cookie preference — twelve months on your device.
Enquiry-form messages — until the matter is resolved, then deleted.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the following rights over any personal data we hold about you:
Access — request a copy of what we hold.
Rectification — ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
Erasure — ask us to delete it, where the law allows.
Restriction — ask us to pause processing.
Portability — receive a copy in a portable format.
Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Withdraw consent — at any time, where consent is the basis.
Legal obligation — HMRC retention of booking records.
Legitimate interests — server security logging.
Consent — your cookie preference and any marketing contact.
Data controller
Y Dolydd Bunkhouse is the data controller for any personal data collected through this website or during your stay.

The short version
This site stores one tiny preference on your device. That's it.
What's actually stored
A single localStorage entry called yd_cookie_consent. It records whether you've accepted the banner and when. It contains no identifier, no tracker, nothing that goes off your device.
Visitor counting
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count how many people visit the site. It is privacy-first: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, uses no fingerprinting, and does not track you across other websites. It simply gives us a rough visitor count so we know the site is being seen.
What we don't use
Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok, LinkedIn or other profiling tools.
Advertising networks, remarketing or audience cookies.
Session-replay, heatmap or behavioural tracking.
Any cookie or identifier that follows you off this site.
What does load from elsewhere
Google Fonts (for typography), a Google Maps embed (so you can see where we are), and the Cloudflare Web Analytics script (for the visitor count). These are loaded only to display or measure the page — none sets identifying cookies on this site.
Reset your preference
If you'd like to wipe the preference and see the banner again, this button will clear it from your device.
Manage cookies elsewhere
Every browser has a settings panel for clearing site data and blocking storage. Look for "Privacy" or "Site settings" in your browser preferences.

Our commitment
This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. It's tested with keyboard navigation, screen-reader walkthroughs and at 200% zoom before it goes live.
What's in place
Perceivable — text contrast meets AA against every background, decorative imagery marked aria-hidden, content reflows down to 320px wide.
Operable — every interactive element reachable by keyboard, visible focus indicators, no keyboard traps, touch targets ≥44px on phones.
Understandable — single H1, logical heading hierarchy, semantic landmarks, language declared (lang="en"), real tel: / mailto: link schemes.
Robust — valid HTML5, ARIA only where semantics fall short, tested in current Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.
About the building
Y Dolydd is a Grade II* listed Victorian workhouse. While we've done everything we can to make the website accessible, the building itself has features that may limit physical access. If you have specific access requirements for your stay, please ring 07711 025 761 before booking so we can talk you through what's possible.
Known limits on the site
The Google Maps embed in the Location section is provided by a third party; its accessibility is outside our control.
Room photographs have descriptive alt text; some decorative gallery images are described in nearby text rather than per-image.
Report a problem
If anything on this site is hard to use or read, please let us know. Ring 07711 025 761 or email llanfyllinbunkhouse@gmail.com.
Enforcement
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing accessibility regulations. If you're not happy with our response, you can contact the EHRC at equalityadvisoryservice.com.

Accuracy
We try to keep room information, availability and pricing up to date on this website and the platforms we list on. Definitive availability and pricing live on Booking.com and Airbnb at the moment of booking. If something looks off, ring 07711 025 761 before you travel.
Bookings
Bookings made through Booking.com or Airbnb are governed by those platforms' terms and cancellation policies. Direct bookings (groups of 15+ for sole use) are confirmed by email and subject to the cancellation terms quoted at the time.
Pricing
Prices are quoted in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Final price is the one shown at the time of confirmed booking.
Not an offer to sell
Information on this site is an invitation to enquire, not a binding offer. A booking is only confirmed once you have a confirmation from us or from the platform you booked through.
Conduct during your stay
Y Dolydd is a shared building. Guests are asked to respect other groups using the bunkhouse, the listed structure, and the grounds. Smoking is not permitted inside the building. Damage caused by guests may be recovered.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, we exclude liability for loss arising from your use of this website, save that nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
